Brice and I were originally planning on traveling to Scottsdale for some business meetings, but we decided to turn it into yet another one of our mini travel adventures — meeting friends we’ve connected with on Instagram and sneaking in a little anniversary getaway to celebrate 13 years of marriage.

We got up and had one final breakfast at our beautiful hotel in Kyoto, which we were very sad to leave. But we needed to get back to Tokyo for the last four days of our journey! We rode the Bullet Train back to Tokyo. We snacked on lobster chips, enjoyed Brice's favorite matcha ice cream, and counted our blessings for the couple hours long train ride. We're finally starting to get our bearings in this country! And the view of Mt. Fuji from the train was otherworldly.

For Part 2 of our travel diaries to Japan from 2024, we're headed to Kyoto & Osaka! Kyoto was a sleepier part of Japan, but the beautiful shines and temples are a MUST SEE, and cannot be missed! Osaka on the other hand...

Here's our extensive itinerary and guide for Japan (Part 1)! We started in Tokyo, went to Kyoto, Osaka (for a day trip), and then back to Tokyo before heading home. What a whirlwind bucket list trip of a lifetime!

The two-hour drive from the airport to the resort was a whole experience: winding mountain roads through the rainforest, the bustling capital city, and vibrant neighborhoods that felt like a Caribbean block party. At long last, we pulled up to Sandals Grande St. Lucian, perched on the northern tip of the island, nestled between the calm Caribbean Sea and the rolling Atlantic Ocean.
